When can I work for Willowford Alma Alta?
*We are not taking applications at this time. The two periods of work are - thinning the apples from mid November until early January and picking from mid February until early May. Who will I be working for? Kirsty and Phil are the orchard owners and they like to think they will become your 'Kiwi parents' while you stay with us. You'll also work alongside orchard manager Tony Marett and foreman Neville Kirk. These guys have been with Willowford Alma Alta from the start. Neville looks after the backpacker gangs and has 10 years experience training and supporting them. He has made many life long friends! Where can I stay? Accommodation is available on our orchard. You can pitch a tent in the summer, pull up a van or car or we also offer caravans. We keep the rent very low, covering costs. The main aim is to mould a working gang that works hard but also has the experience of living with same minded people from all over the world and having fun - many life long friendships start here! We also offer a fully equipped kitchen to cook in as well as bathroom and toilet facilities. We have a social area to hang out with barbeques. Nearby you can buy fresh produce and there is a supermarket. How can I get mail? Kirsty and Phil will help you to organise anything you need during your stay like doctors, dentists etc should you need them and also receive your mail for you. Our casa es tu casa - our home is your home! Are there fun things to do in my time off around Hawke's Bay? Of course! There are plenty of cool things to do nearby. Here are some of the things we recommend:
